Matthew Dabbs

Matthew Dabbs studied orchestral percussion at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester.

In the late 90’s, Matt was a founding member of the (moderately) successful rock band “Longview” who enjoyed a string of singles just outside of the top 40, not to mention years of touring to half empty venues (don’t ask him about it, you’ll never get away!)

Since his retirement from rock and roll, Matt has had a busy career as a freelance drummer and percussionist, working with a diverse range of artists such as; David Gray, Evolution Pantomimes, Sheffield theatres, Opera North and the Royal Northern Sinfonia.

In addition to performing, Matt is currently head of percussion at a leading independent school.
